"Comics books are the new rock and roll baby", declares an enthusiastic Forbidden Planet employee. This arcade celebrates 25 years of selling Manga, Anime, blockbuster figurines and comic books. The London store, being the hub of all sci-fi and fantasy fans, is the new hang out quarter, counting Tim Burton & Johnny Depp as regular customers, with 30,000 products spread across 10,000 square feet.
These employees look like comic book heroes in their own right; On an average day you can stumble upon Van Helsing helping Dora, Ghost World, packing an avid customer's bags. Their style has slowly filtered onto the catwalk, with Luella taking Ghost World as her main inspiration for her AW 2008 collection. Marc Jacobs and Chanel also have their eyes fixed firmly on the comic book trend too.
