The Don't Panic readers had picked an imaginative collection of designs for the short list. The judging panel was made up of Mr Jago, Emma and Claire - Momiji, Nick -
Don't Panic, Geraldine – Selfridges and Victoria, Tim and Pheobe - POP
magazine. If they had it their way everyone would have been a winner.
The fierce talent meant the team spent a long time deliberating,
before crowning Yota Sampasneethumrong the winning designer.
His aptly named Momiji dolls 'Dippy D', 'Cuppa T' and 'Bakey C'
married well with the competition's title 'Indulge'. Yota
Sampasneethumrong's dolls reflect British afternoon tea; a fixed part
of our daily routine, which has become so quintessentially British.
Talking to LKTV Yota said the idea was inspired by his girlfriend, who
likes to indulge in either biscuits or cupcakes (at emotional times we
would eat both) alongside a cup of tea. Students and employees alike
can relate to this activity, if we're not napping or emailing, dunking
savouries into our teas is always top of the agenda.
After the announcement of the winner there were more cocktails to be
drunk and fun to be had. We would like to congratulate Momiji and
Don't Panic on putting on an impressive event. We look forward to the
arrival of the dolls on the selves of Selfridges at Christmas. I
myself will be buying all three and they shall take centrepiece on my
lounge table. On second thoughts whose my secret Santa this year?
