The Clod Ensemble: Red Ladies.

Flyers have been handed out declaring that these women are dangerous, they stand around Trafalgar Square in an austere manner, dressed in matching black coats, red high heels, and red head scarves with dark sunglasses. Who are these women? Why are they so dangerous?

To tourists and Londoners alike it is always of great excitement when something alien and unknown enters our city space, and theses women certainly were alien. While walking around Trafalgar Square, I was unsure as to whether I should talk to them or if I should even look at them, by even asking for the time, would I be threatening the closely guarded secret of these women’s true identity and purpose.

This tantalising enigma was revealed to a handful of people at the ICA performances on the 3rd and 4th June; to reveal their identities would be a great crime, needless to say that these women strip themselves bare to their audience and then return to their silent collective. The performance was both powerful and extremely witty; unfortunately for you, I do not wish to say much more on the Red Ladies, as I feel that it is they who should reveal the magic of their performance, not I.

The Red Ladies are no longer in London; their next performance is in Portugal- if you happen to be there now I urge you to see them. If not I know the Red Ladies will be back very soon, clad in their mysterious garb, and when they are I shall definitely be at the front row of their performance. What about you?
