Although it launched during London Fashion Week, the creative talents featured in the Fashion/Filmshow are currently making huge waves in the worlds of art and Fashion.

In a series of three short films, the event sponsored by Another and Dazed and Confused (amongst the obligatory of drinks promoters) bought together designers and film makers to showcase their individual talents. David Bradley joined designer Adham Faramawy to drive home his obsession of color and linear proportion. Exploring the reflection and symmetry of patterns, the use of print’s marked the season’s trend. Lucy Beech too, with Aoife Ledwidge, featured prints to exemplify the fascination of illusions and the distortion of space. Using perspective and a kinetic composition, the surreal nature of the film drives through the often-blurred conceptual boundaries of fashion and reality.

Moving way from current seasonal trends, Edward Thomasson with acclaimed duo Bjork and McElliogtt used embellished hand knitted pieces that hint at 1800s exploration and the early colonial ideas of the exotic. In a very dream-like production, the mysterious elements of the collection combine marry with the spiritual, classical tailoring that the designers are famed for.

Brooklyn-born auteur Julian Schnabel recently commented in style bible Dazed, “art, film and music have nothing to do with fashion aside from fashion, by necessity, having to associate itself with other art forms because it is in itself so vapid and cannot stand alone."

What ever the views on how fashion can often be symbiotic with music, Fashion/Filmshow married the two perfectly, and each of the designers can not be faulted for perfectly showcasing two of the most exciting mediums that has made London what it is today.
