Urban Nerds' First Birthday!
This Saturday sees the Urban Nerds take over Brick Lane's 93 Feet East once more to celebrate a year of parties at the infamous Shoreditch nightspot.
Since March 2007 the Nerds have shared their taste for all things grime, dubstep, hip-hop and reggae with East London's party people, attracting a mixed crowd of Shoreditch club kids, hardened grime ravers and everything in between with eclectic line-ups graced by the likes of Taskforce, dubstep pioneers Rusko, Plastician, Tubby and N-Type as well as Tapedeck and grime favourites Boy Better Know, Chipmunk and The Newham Generals, to name but a few!
On Saturday night the Nerds are inviting everyone to party on down for the biggest Birthday ever, they are one don't'cha know? The first anniversary is marked by a fully-blown line-up headed by UK hip-hop master, Skinnyman. Also live is unforgettable songstress Jenna G. Beats will be provided by hip-hop queen, BBC 1Xtra's Sarah Love. The uber-cool Goldielocks and dubstep don Rusko return to the decks after playing the Nerds' first event last year and DJ Magic, resident at London's premier grime night, Dirty Canvas, also returns for some serious grime-time with MCs Badness and Purple.
Watch out for some chilled reggae beats in the bar for early birds, progressing into a mix of dubstep, electro and drum and bass as Step:One brings you the Audio Revolution.
As if it's not enough to take in, there's a five crew graff battle in the courtyard headed by The One Trick Pony design collective. In room 3 (opened especially for the Birthday shenanigans) The Ugly Kids club launch their new website and T Shirt range with a saucy body-painting battle.
So it looks like this is one not to miss folks. Come party with London Kicks and get your mug on LKTV! We'll see ya'll on Saturday.
Urban Nerds' Birthday Special takes place this Saturday @ 93 Feet East, 150 Brick Lane, London, E1 6QL
