Mitchy's dark and urban style of mixing brushwork, with vectors, illustrations and photos has got him a lot of mainstream success, doing collaborations with WeSC, and even doing official Star Wars tees in partnership with apparel label Addict.

Whether Dub, Breaks, Desi or Disco, he's probably wormed his way somewhere into your music collection on one of the many canvases his works adorn.

A quick glance at his myspace and you can see his work is very versatile, from headphone graphics, t-shirts, album covers, and exhibition pieces. Although the medium and context often changes, there is always an element of familiarity, and It's the feeling of the creator having an adept and proficient approach to aesthetics and his craft.

So when the invitation to his new exhibition landed in my inbox, I was very excited. Sponsored by 55DSL, in a Portobello Road Gallery, it's a portal into his world, boasting exclusively new work, it's bound to be a more intimate glance at his commentary on the environment he works in, both from an artistic, and personal view, as there is no client specification or marketing censors to limit his creativity whatsoever.

Expect a cool and eclectic crowd of art-lovers, urban-livers and randomers as we embrace and celebrate his 10 years of profound input into his chosen industry.

The exhibition opens with a private view on the 7th of August, and the exhibition runs until the 21st of August, at 243 Portobello Road, W11 1LR
